Dania Zaheer, a 25-year-old international student from Pakistan, moved to Houston on a student visa with hopes of earning a master’s degree in business administration from North American University. Tragically, on the evening of Thursday, September 5th, 2024, she was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street at the intersection of Westheimer and Sage around 8 p.m. The driver fled the scene, according to the Houston Police Department.

Dania suffered multiple severe injuries, including fractures to her pelvis, hip, arm, femur, and other bones. Despite her immediate family residing in Pakistan, she has found strong support within Houston’s large Pakistani community.
The Pakistan Association of Greater Houston (PAGH) has been in touch with the hospital to assist with her medical needs and is working closely with Houston Police for updates on the case. Authorities are continuing their search for the driver responsible for the hit-and-run.
