74th Independence Day of Pakistan

Pakistanis in Houston gathered together at the Pakistan Center of PAGH to attend the flag-raising ceremony on August 14th. Despite hot weather, a large number of people participated with their families to show their love for Pakistan.

The ceremony began with raising the Pakistani flag. Deputy consul general Mr. Irfan Ullah Khan raised the flag, and president PAGH Haroon Shaikh and others took part. Pakistani anthem was played during the flag-raising and hundreds of people sang along.

Formal proceedings started by reciting the Quran-e-Majeed by Mehmood Ahmed. Deputy consul general and president PAGH addressed the audience and emphasized the importance of introducing our new generation to Pakistan, its history, and sacrifices made to achieve the dream of a homeland for Muslims where they can practice Islam and live freely. Former president PAGH Mian Nazeer performed the role of emcee.
